August

Hello Everyone!

I know that I just sent out an email, but I have recently heard some great news! In my last email, I asked for everyone to pray for a few things—first of which was a place for our new church to meet in during its opening months. This morning we were officially told that we were able to use a Kids R Kids facility. This was the exact place that we were praying for. The reason for choosing this location was because of its kid friendly atmosphere. We thought that this was crucial for our ministry to help parents feel comfortable leaving their kids in a strange place. There is also a large meeting room that is perfect for our church body to meet.

Now that we have a place to meet, we have to get people to come and be a part of this journey. We have heard back from many people saying that they are interested in coming. Others say that they want Northwest Community Church to be their permanent church. And then there are still others that are skeptical of being part of religious activity but are somewhat interested. Are goal as a church is to bring in unbeliever while at the same time equipping believers to become closer to God. We are excited to see what God is going to do in the near future.

If you don’t mind could you pray with our church in the following ways…
1. Good attendance week after week
2. Enough volunteers to run our different children’s and tech programs
3. Sufficient funds to start on the 24th of September
4. A smooth first Sunday
5. A body with a genuine love for Christ
6. Continuous people willing to be part of this race.

Thank you for your prayers!

Empty House

I just wanted to take a second to tell all of you what I have been doing for the past few weeks. In July, I was at ABWE in PA for their Candidate Seminar and ME Conference, helping them do tech and graphic design. After this trip, I came home to a fairly empty house and had two days before my family moved to Cary, North Carolina. It was extremely hard to leave Chicago. It was all I have ever known! Coming down was hard, but the Lord has started to do great things.

For those of you who don’t know, the reason we came down was to start a church. We came down knowing there were three families waiting for us and together we would start a church. Both my mom and my dad quit their jobs, and headed down here with no definite jobs. My mom quickly got a job as a nurse at Cary Skin Center. My dad was obviously going to be the pastor of the new church but it hasn’t really been completely established yet. We are not even 100% sure where we are going to meet yet! We know that our first Sunday will be Sunday, September 24th, 2006. In order to make this service happen we need the Lord to provide this venue that we have been looking at for a place of worship. The other key factor is all of the tech equipment needs to be bought by then. This means that we have to raise $50,000. You can see what our church is looking to get by going to http://www.northwestlife.org/support.html . While you are online, it would be great if you visited our home page as well. http://northwestlife.org.
