Getting Started

I just wanted to take a minute to update you on what is going on down here in North Carolina…


Today: September 23, 2006…
Sometime in the morning…
…we are going to a mall to film a video bumper to go along with our theme, “What is Church Anyway?”. We will be asking people what church is to them and will be putting all the answers together to make this movie. You will hopefully be able to see it within the next few days.

Today: September 23, 2006…
At 3:00pm today…
…we are setting up and practicing for our very first service! Most of the sound and video equipment arrived although a few things won’t be here for our first Sunday. All of the equipment was set up in my dining room (my mom loves that) to test it before we bring it over to Kids R Kids (that’s where we are meeting) for our first Sunday.

Tomorrow: September 24, 2006…
At 8:00am…
…our “dress rehearsal” will take place and make sure everything is ready and we have the final finishing touches to make Northwest Community Church a success. Please pray for this practice as well as the last minute finishing touches!


Tomorrow: September 24, 2006…
At 9:30am…
…people will begin arriving because they were invited to come early to have coffee and fellowship. Please pray that our greeters will be inviting and that from the minute the people come to the church to when they leave (hopefully they will stay the whole time), that they will feel appreciated and fell God’s love through the start up team.


Tomorrow: September 24, 2006…
At 10:00am tomorrow…
…Northwest Community Church will have official begun! This will be the most exciting part of the whole adventure. We have come down to start a church, and at 10:00am tomorrow, the church will start! Please pray that everything will run smoothly, and that there will be no major technical glitches and that He will give the people up front, the band, pastor, singers, etc., strength and help to calm their nerves.

Please Pray…
1. For us to get some good clips today for the movie that will be shown tomorrow.
2. For the practice and set-up tonight to go well and that everyone will be safe in that process.
3. For a good night of sleep for everyone that is participating in our church and those who have worked so hard to make it happen.
4. For calmed nerves of everyone because starting churches is very stressful.
5. For the stamina to stand up against the devil and his army. They would love to see us fail.
6. For the safety of the people who are involved in any way with our church.
7. That the many people who have said they were going to come will come and enjoy our church.
8. That people’s first impression of our church will be positive and they will want to come back.
9. Please pray that there will be no major technical difficulties tomorrow.
10. That we will be able to get all the things that we need last minute.


There are so many other requests, but if you wouldn’t mind just praying with us for the next 2 days. God can do amazing things if we just simply pray. Whenever you think of our church, especially in the next two days, just pray that the ministry that is going on down here in North Carolina will impact many people.
