At NWCC we are currently studying the book of James in a series entitled, "Faith That Works". This will be an awesome series that is practical to everyday life! We all go through trials at various points in our life and we need to find pure joy in these instances and know that God is using the hardships to stretch and grow us.
God put my family and I through a trial that caused us to move down to North Carolina which was a trial in and of itself. Although this isn't a major trial, God used the difficulties we encountered to grow and stretch each of out faiths in different ways. I am so thankful, now, because I know that I was moved here for a reason and I am growing because of it.
I have a good friend whose young brother is suffering from cancer yet he and his family have been looking to the Lord the entire time and have been a true example to me. I have been shown that although we don't see the big picture, God has a reason for placing things, trials, in our lives. I want to encourage you that no matter what storm you are in, God has a reason for it. Look to him for you answers. I also recommend that you begin reading James. It is a practical book that will teach you many life lessons as well as challenge you to find "pure joy" in every situation in which you are found.
Video Journal #01
Hey Guys!
This video is a couple weeks old but due to homework and projects I could only get around to editing and uploading it now. So anyway, I hope you enjoy this minute and a half guided tour of our church. I recorded the footage and audio from the webcam built into a laptop. So that explains the lower quality. Feel free to leave comments on how I can improve for the next time I do a video journal!

Growing!
Hey Everyone!
I know that I have not yet put up the video from last Sunday, I am still in the process of editing it. In other news, this past Sunday was our largest Sunday morning ever! We totaled to 149 people. Just one away from 150! It is great to see how we are growing. However, it does come with some growing pains such as finding enough volunteers to make Sunday mornings happen. Nevertheless, the growth is awesome because it means that more and more people hear the Truth.
Christmas is rapidly approaching. In light of this, everyone is working hard to get things accomplished. We are planning on making our church even more seeker friendly this Christmas with a children's choir, orchestra, movies, and other related items. So please be praying for us as we try to accomplish these things for the first time in the history of NWCC.
I'll upload the movie soon!

Coming Soon
Hey!
I know i didn't post about yesterday, but that is because a video of our Sunday morning routine is on the way. But FYI we had 127 people this Sunday! That is great!
Please pray that as the holidays approach, especially Christmas, that people will come to our church for the first time and hear the Gospel message. We have some awesome things planned, so we will see what God has in store!

A Lot of Work.... A Little Time
As I have said in earlier posts, our church has been blessed with some awesome people who bring many skills and talents to the table. In order to utilize some of these gifts fully, I, along with others, have begun to start planning special events for the holiday season, especially Christmas.
In doing this, we are looking to put together an orchestra (band), a choir, and a children's choir. In addition, possibly a skit or a video--something that would change up the pace. Please be praying for us as we try out all of these crazy things for the first time. Also pray that these special happenings on Sunday mornings will serve as an outreach tool. Things like this usually attract more people to a church. How awesome would it be if we (our church) were able to tell about the best gift ever given this Christmas and see many receive that gift, the gift of eternal life this year!
Please pray for us!

On Fire
No seriously, tonight was on fire!
Tonight our youth group had its first ever bonfire. However, due to the drought it had to be two smaller fires contained to pits. Nevertheless, it was awesome to have the youth group gather together around a fire in the crisp autumn night. I led worship tonight with my guitar as we sang around the campfire. We sung the song, "God of Wonders", under the stars and I thought that was just so awesome! Apart from that, we had an excellent turn out to our Sunday evening youth Bible study--by far our largest.
Not only was it our largest youth meeting but it was also our larget Sunday morning attendance EVER! PRAISE THE LORD! There was a total of 146 people blowing out our projection for about 130 people. That was awesome to see so many people there as well as knowing more people are not only coming to our church but are also finding out about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sticking with the fire theme...Recently I have noticed an issue arising with people "growing dim". You see, everyone was "on fire" when the church began. They were ready to face challenges together and hurdle different obstacles that were in our way acting as road blocks. However, with a small church, there are not a lot of volunteers meaning the same ones are recycled and reused week after week. This is causing many people's fire to grow dim and they are not as eager to help. They are not complaining by any stretch, but the amounts of time they put into their service takes away some of the joys of serving. This is a problem that on occasion, I myself am faced with. So if you could be in prayer for all of those volunteering, that they would have the strength to perservere and keep Northwest in full operation thus furthering the Kingdom.
Thanks for your support! Feel free to comment!
